Obituary of Marv Duncan

It is with great sadness that the family of Marvin James “Marv” Duncan announces his passing in Edmonton at the Royal Alex Hospital on April 26th 2018.
 
Marv is survived  by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Duncan and he was survived by brothers Leonard Buxton and John (Donna) Buxton.

 
He will be missed by his children, Tony, Terry (Janice), Cindy (Paul) and Dave (Cheryle).  He will also be missed by his grandchildren Dearnney, Terranna, Morgan, Courtney, Megan, Brittany, AJ and Dave.

Marv was Pre-Deceased by his mother Evelyn Rigler, Brother Keith Duncan and his father Robert Charles Duncan.
 
Marv joined the service in 1954 and was stationed in Portage La Prairie and served for 29 years.  Out of the 29 years he spent 20 years in the Cold Lake area.  After Military retirement he went back to school and obtained his 4th class Power Engineering and started working for Imperal Oil.  He then became a commissioner of the Alberta Research Council in Edmonton for 15 years. Retired once again to enjoy golfing with his sons.
 
 
He dedicated his time to many organizations such as the Legion, Fish and Game Association as well he was a member of Palm Springs Golf and Country Club.  Marv was proud to accept a special service award for his service with NATO.
 
Marv will be missed by all who knew him.



Service Details
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Celebrate Life Funeral Services LTD chapel on May 12th 2018 at 11:00am.
Burial Details
A burial will take place at a later date.
