Obituary of Bud
Reynold Jake “Bud” Heide passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 10th 2018 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Winkler Manitoba, Bud joined the Navy after leaving the farm and served for 15 years. He moved to Cold Lake in 1974 with Esso resources, and later became a long time employee of Sobey’s. Everyone who knew Bud will remember his sense of humor and easy going manner. His daily jokes will be missed.
Bud was predeceased by his love of 28 years Elna “Bonnie” Oelke, and parents Jacob and Annie Heide and his brother in laws Bill Dyck and Bob Krahn. He is survived by his children, Kevin Heide (Kerri), Paul Heide (Trish), Corinne Hetherington (Rick), Michele Eleniak (James), Richard Silver (Carla), Deborah Gauthier (Remi), Rob Oelke (Rachel), Allen Oelke (Crystal), his siblings Merle Heide (Ruth), Joyce Krahn , Sharon Dyck, Walter Heide (Pam) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bud didn’t wish family and friends to travel in the winter so ceremony will take place in the spring. Many thanks to Dr. Stander and the caring staff at the CLHCC. Memorial tributes in memory of Bud may be sent to the Cold Lake Palliative Care Society, PO Box 1505 Stn Main, Cold Lake, AB T9M 1P4
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to the Cold Lake Palliative Care Society
There will be a service at the Grand Centre Alliance Church 5403 56th street at 1:00pm on May 19th, 2018 with a light lunch to follow at the Wing Association at 5319 48 ave (beside the provincial court house)
Bud will be laid to rest in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts I'll always remember my Uncle Sausage.
